Getting started
The whole app in a minute.
What is 48pages?
One page, bounded to 48 — like a Field Notes memo book. You write on it fast, and when a scrap is worth keeping you roll it into a task, file it to the cabinet, or tear it out. When the 48th page fills, you shelve the book and start the next. That's the whole thing.
How do I start writing?
Just type. The page is always there when you unlock — there's no blank-document ritual. A blank line starts a new scrap.
What is a scrap?
A scrap is a block of writing between blank lines — the unit the three verbs act on. A multi-line scrap travels as one piece.
What do I do when the page fills up?
As you near 48 pages the meter turns to triage: roll, file, or tear scraps to reclaim most of their ink (each leaves a one-line scar) and keep writing. At 48 of 48 the book is full, and the shelf ceremony appears.
